New Year’s Resolutions You Can Stick With
Isn’t it hard to believe that we are 2 months away from the new year? With that in mind, it’s that time of year again; no, not talking about winter just yet, lets step back a few weeks and welcome fall. True, sometimes fall weather can mimic temps of summer with a touch of winter, but you sometime just don’t know what to wear. Just because it’s a bright, sunny day in October, doesn’t mean that you can walk outside in your beach attire and hope for the best. It’s time to get ready to pack up our summer wardrobe and dress in a few layers.
Jackets
Depending on where you live, you may have noticed a sudden dip in temperatures. Some of the latest fashions for men suggest wearing the usual jacket, button up shirt, and pants attire. If you want to “spice things up” a bit, for lack of better terminology, a GQ article suggests that a Glen plaid jacket, made by Jack Victor, is the way to go. This particular piece of clothing is both trendy and warm. It is a far cry from the usual plaid jacket that you may remember your grandfather wearing. Its modernized check pattern will surely make you stand out amongst the crowd.
Looking for a more daily route for your jacket needs? The hoodie never seems to go out of style. This jacket is a popular item among both men and women and has even garnered its own season (Hoodie Season) amongst many young adults. Hoodies are the perfect item to choose when you’re out and about during the day, going to class, the store, or working on a project outside.
Jeans
If you are looking for a more laid-back, everyday look, nothing’s better than your usual denim. Let’s face it, jeans are a key part of every man’s wardrobe. Have you ever taken the time to actually look into which style of jeans fits you the best? It’s true, jeans are pretty much worn every day, but you should also make sure they fit you, just right. Look in to making sure that the length, waist, seat, and thigh fit on the next pair of jeans you purchase. Buying the correct fit may also help with the longevity of the item.
Jeans also have another option that will keep you even warmer on those especially cold fall afternoons; corduroy! Not talking about the bear in the classic children’s book, but the fabric. Corduroy has a soft, velvet like feel to the touch, but is a tad more ridged. Sound comfortable enough for you?
Sweaters
Turtleneck, or turtle not, a sweater is another classic item many flock to when they need that extra warmth during cooler weather. Depending on your taste in fashion, a sweater may be the answer. Are you the type to wear wool sweaters or something more so on the cotton side? There are bundles of choices to choose from. As seen on Macy’s website, turtlenecks are both stylish, warm, and not to mention affordable. With many colors and patterns (if you are a pattern type of guy) to choose from, this is a sure winner.
If turtlenecks are not your thing, don’t worry. V-Neck sweaters (sans a turtle neck) are also a great choice. This particular article of clothing can be paired with a button up shirt to be worn underneath for extra warmth and style.
Feeling a tad fancier? Then check out a shawl-collar sweater. Not only do this sweater look “suave and debonair,” but as you guessed, it keeps you warm as well!
Just wanting to enjoy a day at a football game, not wanting to rake out any unnecessary amounts of cash just for a sweater? Not a problem. The classic heavy blend crewneck never goes out of style! It is as classic as that pair of jeans I discussed earlier. Grab a heavy blend crewneck sweater, match it with your favorite pair of jeans, and enjoy the big game!
